GOOD MORNING TRAVELERS!

Who has the networking bug? HANDS UP! We all should! But sometimes it's not so easy to reach across the isle, or the seat. Through the struggles of asking for gum, or asking to get out to go to the bathroom, here is how to strike up a conversation with the person sitting next to you.

I always start with so are you from (either A. Place you are departing from. or B. Place you are traveling to). From here there is generally something to talk about. "oh I'm from Denver, what part? Oh I grew up in STL which high school did you go to? Oh I know someone from there."

I have also thrown in "from my time in study abroad" and "oh when I was working in Marketing at DU." These get you onto the networking tracks fast. Recently, I sat next to a women with a horse jacket on and we talked about horse breeds for hours and transitioned into what type of marketing work I wanted to do and ideas.

Every conversation is what you make it! You never know who you might meet! I met Ludacris on a flight to Atlanta from LA. What a nice guy! Get out there networking junkies and make a new friend!
